Well, this is what I’ve discovered during my summer vacation so far:
- Linux is fast, but sometimes the boot-up time of older computers makes it useless from a live cd. (And I’m not installing it on a computer that I really can’t mess up!)
- My Linksys Wireless usb dongle needs a driver to work in XP.
- Linksys has a very graphic intensive site.
- My wireless is slow.
- Graphic intensive sites take a long time to load on a slow connection.
- Some thumb drives don’t work in a non-powered hub.
- My wireless card’s range is better in Windows than in Linux.
- The Wii can use online even with a really weak internet connection.
- A puppy linux install is really easy. Just copy your save file from the C: drive of one computer to another. Then put in your CD and Ta-da! All your files are there!
That’s it so far. I’ll keep you posted
